In the years 1784 and 1785 the winter fishery produced to the inhabitants of the Rosses a sum of £40, 000. Stores and houses were built on the island of Innishmacadurn in the manner of a town named Rutland. Taken from the Statistical Survey of Donegal, 1802, by James McParlan.
