Letter of Sir J. Methuen to Shrewsbury informing him of opposition to the King's affairs in the Irish parliament, of the passing of a land tax of a fixed sum on every barony or hundred in each county. He says the Irish parliament is showing a desire to be independent of England. Dublin, Feb. 3, 1698.
