Letter of Sir F. Gorges to the Earl of Essex. Says the Council in Ireland are divided amongst themselves and distracted. Soldiers and captains are miserably poor and extremely discouraged. Lords and commonalty of the country all either gone unto the enemy or upon terms of going. Oct. 21, 1598.
