Letter, partly in cipher, from John Colville to the Earl of Essex, saying Bothwell plans to seize Orkney with 1,000 men and then to go to Ireland by the west seas with men who speak the Irish tongue. The route through Orkney will suit Danish and Hamburgh men to go to Spain and Ireland. Jan. 20, 1599.
